Here is a photo of the CRK Snakewood Sm Sebenza I bought at Blade Show from Chris Reeve himself. I realize he signs all birth cards but its special to me that I got to meet him, talk knives and have him sign it personally for me. He is so passionate about knives and it showed in his professorial discussion with me about lock-ups, the mechanics and proper percentages. He even got out scrap paper and drew illustrations to show what he was talking about. (Movement of lock-up on cheaper knives over time).

Here is a group shot of the custom knives I bought, which I plan to post in the custom and handmade subsection for those who care to see them. From top to bottom: Sean O'Hare, Ed Caffrey, Greg Neely, Daniel Warren, and Johnny Stout folder. Unfortunately, my pictures do not do justice to the quality and craftsmanship, especially the Damascus.

That's really cool that you got him to sign the box. I wanted to do that last yr with a few of mine, but didnt want to lug the boxes to Blade. Your situation worked out great! Nice fixies

Wonderful score of some very beautiful blades. Out of curiosity, were you able to get any of those other blade maker's signatures too? Just something very special to me about being able to get an artist's signature with their product. I don't chase celebrities, in fact, they do nothing for me. But, there's just something about having an artist sign their work, especially with edged and triggered tools, that just seems to add an unequalled level of authenticity. Congrats on your scores!

US-Steel, to answer you question, While I don't generally request signatures specifically, I do ask all makers to provide a signed receipt or Cert of Origin/authenticity. They usually sign these as a matter of course or are happy to do so on request. Of the knives I bought this week, only one did not include anything in writing to document the sale/purchase. He did agree to send me something when he gets back to shop. I don't really sell any knives but I do like to have makers proof and description of knife for my own records.

You know the joke: my biggest fear is that if I die my wife sells my knives for what I told her I paid for them :)
