Wow! I had never had a show like this!
It was the busiest show I ever had. Form the moment i put my feet on the Hotel until I left to the airport I had work to do, and I still left a lot undone.
Also, it was great to have the oportumity to meet many of you forumites in person and put a face in the name. A few I can recall meeting were Don Johnson, Brian Turner, Enrique Barrio, Ed Foster, Tom Anderson, Bill Wentling, Dogman, Rob Simonich, Darrel Ralph, and the Jones brothers, but I surely met many more, not to mention the ones I knew already, like Blues, Gus Kalanzis and Spark.
With the little time I had to see the show (even though I took the Sunday off just to walk), I was amazed to see what custom makers are doing and how quickly they are evolving in the craft. We took a lot of pictures and I hope that Flavio send them to me later in the week so I can post them.
Other great guys I met included Jim and Cindy Taylor, Ed Fowler, Barnaby Zelman, etc, and Don McGrath, who came all the way from Toronto after I told him about the Show, a couple weeks earler - this Canadian guy is a good friend of mine, now!
Also, the social part of the show was really great at the lobby or the Ruby Tuesday, even though the beer was warm as usual (there is no way aorund this, folks: to find out what a really cold beer is, you have to come to Brazil).
Businesswise, I sold my entire table and took many orders. Our best piece, Flavio Ikoma's automatic was stunning and we quickly got some more order for it and for the other knives.
And, as if it was not enough, the entire trip was incredibly calm, no problems with customs, no plane delays and the air company have not even lost our luggage!
Now, after all that, I think fantastic was the only word to describe it, right?
Wait for the pictures!
