One week later it would have like a sauna in there. Looking at temps over 100 degrees everyday through the weekend. :thumbdn:

I was more worried about tornadoes while we were down there. Little did I know that we would be coming home to flash floods, severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings.

You got that right Chiller!

Moving it back one week made a huge differance:thumbup:
If you think that building was hot this year it would be way hotter this weekend. Kinda like last year when it was a week later.
The heat and high humidity down here is on now:thumbdn:

I was out in it for about an hour trying to find some missing wetlands flags. The tallest thing out there was hip deep grasses, no shade and not a breath of breeze. They frown on tall shade trees near a runway. I felt that monkey tapping me on the shoulder and I didn't argue, back to the truck and blast the cold air. When I started the truck the outside thermometer said 100° but I didn't believe it 'til the one at a bank said the same thing. No rain in the forecast, I think I'll stay inside and sharpen some of my new knives!!!

At least the air conditioning worked this year!

i was wondering if it was just me or if it really was hot at blade, good to know it wasn't just me lol. But right now its 11 at night and its still 80 degrease and 66% Humidity DAMN!

LOL, That was NOTHING compared to last year!! Heck it was even chilly Fri. morning! Last year during the Show it was stifling inside & out, day & night... But at least it was the wet heat!! :barf: :foot:

With all the people inside there is no way that building could be cooled if it had been this weekend. It would have been just as hot as last year.

I don't know, but would think that's why they moved it back a week. That one week makes a Huge differance down here. Lets just hope they don't move it back up a week.

Wouldn't the cooler climes of Ten-Uh-Sea be better for next year? :D

Last year was pretty miserable. This year wasn't so bad.

You can keep your wet heat. I'll stay in California where the heat is nice and dry.

It was a lot better at Blade this year. Good move on the organizers bumping it up a bit.

This is my third summer in Atlanta, and I have to say, it SUCKS in the summer. At least people have a sense of humor about it. Amazingly, people here seem friendlier when it's 100 degrees outside. There's a sense of community that extreme weather brings about- similar to winter in the midwest. If you can't laugh about it, you'll end up killing yourself. How people live down in Mississippi, I will never know. It's even worse down there.

There are a lot of great things about this town, but the summer hear is NOT one of them. On the news last night, the anchor asked the weatherman if we were going to see it cool off anytime soon, and he laughed his ass off.

But Atlanta in the winter is a different story. It's awesome. I take great delight in teasing my family in Iowa when they're getting dumped on with snow, and it's 20 below.
"What? 20 below? It's 70 here!!!" Love it.

I cut my large, rough, steep back yard with a push mower Wednesday. Came in the house and commented to the wife, "I am getting too old for this". (For the first time, am seriously considering getting a riding mower like the young guys in my neighborhood, but it still doesn't make sense to me to ride to cut my grass, then walk for exercise.) At the time I did not realize temp was around 95 and humidity very high. I wonder what it will be like when summer gets here.

Keep a wet towel around your neck when you do that, to keep from heat stroke.

We've got a heat wave moving into the bay area this weekend. It's supposed to get up to 83F on Sunday.

According to reports I am reading, it is currently snowing in the panhandle of Idaho, Yellowstone, and the WA/OR mountains.

It's 49F and cloudy/windy here in Idaho Falls.
