First Blade Show as an exhibitor. Some observations are:
-I felt like a small fish in a big pond.
-A newer maker can expierence some success at the big show.
-There are alot of great makers that do not get the recognition they or their work deserve.
-Tactical fixed blades are in.
-Knifemakers in general will share all that they know about their craft. Just ask.
-Terrill Hoffmans photo service cannot be beat.
-Mike Snody's knives feel even better in the hand than they look in pic's, and that is saying something.
Ed Fowler is the most passionate person I have ever met in regards to knives.
-You do not know what a knife handle should feel like until you caress a Loveless Drop Hunter.
-Strider Knives are a great bunch, and their Custom Folder is one big, bad, combat mother.
-Wally Hayes and his two amigos (Rob / Brent) were impressive as "Team Hayes" and captured alot of the tactical crowd attention!
-CRKT continues to lead the way in the production arena due to their collaborations with custom makers.
-Josh Lee of Triple Aught is an astute business man, he chose Dempsey's "D'Tac" tactical knife series to market on his web site.
-Larry Brahms and Vince Oller of BladeArt proved their knife savy, by choosing to market Dempsey's "TUK" (Tactical Utility Knife) on their site.
All in all the show is what it is billed to be. Big, leading edge and the only place to be in late spring of every year. I enjoyed meeting some of the forum members and look forward to meeting more in the near term.
Regards,
