The CRK booth was one of the first ones I went to (it would have been the first, but there were a lot of distracting booths in the way

). If I was excited about the Mnandi before, I'm crazy about it now. The clip is really nice. On the lock side the wood actually comes up over the lock bar which is a departure for CRK. The blade shape is great and the depressions in it work great for one hand opening or a pinch open. IMO $305 is going to be a bargain. I hope that a calfskin slip sheath will at least be offered as an option.

I finally got to see the camo Kalgard on some one piece models. If you're into camo you'll like it. The camo is really subdued, with gradual changes from color to color.

The new Umfaan with a blazing sun and Assegai spear may be the best regular edition yet. Really snazzy. I heard that there may be some redesigning of the Umfaan in the future with the thumb stud moved slightly and the blade becoming a bit more humped (like on it's larger brothers). A pocket clip was mentioned too, something similar to the Mnandi clip maybe.

Everyone at the booth was very nice. There was even a young Reeve helping hold down the fort. I finally got a CRK T-shirt too.

I saw the stingray inlaid Sebenza at a dealer's table, but that's already been cover elsewhere.

Mnandi...Mnandi...Mnandi...Mnandi...that is my mantra until I can get one in my pocket.

Paul, I told you so about the mnandi

Words can't describe how sweet that Mnandi is. I nearly wept... Smooth, solid lock, very nice one-hand opening, innovative clip (to say the least) tolerances so incredibly tight, the blade so perfectly centered and at a length that shouldn't get anyone into any trouble...

There were only a few knives that really got me going at the Blade show: a few Centofante lockbacks, a few Shadley and Bose slipjoints, and that darned Mnandi.

Just when I was finally happy with my collection of carry folders CRK goes and creates something like this...

I forgot to mention the beautiful silver contrast decorated Sebenza. It was sand blasted handle with snowflakes milled into it. I can't remember how many snowflakes, but they were all different. The effect was fantastic. Jack Frost's Sebenza.

Jon,
Great description the Mnandi. I went nuts over it too and can not wait for them to become available.

I wonder if Chris is planning on any special versions. (The knife is already "special" enough.)

The reaction to the Mnandi at the Blade Show was fantastic!! We are working hard on them, believe me!

Gus, the concept of the Mnandi offers a wide variety of special editions - we just need to walk before we can run!
