Lets hear it folks......how did you do at the Blade Show and what did you bring home.
I left home about 4:00AM Saturday and got to Atlanta and the Cobb Galleria around 8:30. Gave me time to grab a program and scope out the arrangments of tables/booths and mark those I wanted to go by first. Come 9:00 and I was in the door. Went down by the Strider table to try an score an AR or an EB, but the only AR available was exactly like the one I already have, so I picked up a very nice EB-LS. Then I was off to the Dozier booth to see what BOB had brought down. I was a little bit surprised to see the number of folders Bob had. If you are not aware, Bob is not taking orders for folders anymore. There was a prototype of a lockback folder, a Workhorse, a Folding Dagger, a medium Folding Hunter, and two XL Folding Hunters. It was those XL's that grabbed my attention! The blade is 4.0" X .150", with liners .125" thick (think Framelock!!) and this was covered on both sides by some nice black carbon fiber scales. Lockup is fixed blade solid, action is smooth, and the blade sharpness............well, it is D2 by Dozier, what else need be said.
As I continued around the show, I bumped into Peter Atwood and picked up one of his unique Prybabies in S30V steel and tiger striped. Got the one that has the spanner for the Strider AR.
Got to talk with a lot of makers and with folks from the forums at the Show, so I'm also counting the memories I brought home as the main goodies!
