Perhaps I missed it but I don't see a single thread dedicated to the Blade show this year. So who went? What were your impressions? What was great what was not?

I thought that it was well attended, but maybe not as many folks as last year. I really did not see anything new that just blew me away. I did get to talk to Vince Evans, Mace Vitale and Veronique Laurent amongst others.

From a newbie perspective (add as you like): Everyone in this community is a gem. Truly good people, nice, polite, everything you’d expect from meeting a “family” from makers, ‘smiths, and collectors alike. Shirogorovs and Sinkevich Knives are no joke. Auction prices were in the 15k range and...

However most of the folks are probably still traveling or drunk. 😂. I’m heading home in the morning
 
I went Friday. I’m back home, but still recovering from sensory overload. Got me some supplies and a couple of canoes. It was a great time. Confirms that knives need to be seen in person, and held, to be appreciated. A computer screen just doesn’t do it.

I wish I would have gone Saturday also. See everything a second time.

DISKIN BOOTH was busy selling out of all the KERSHAW LIVEWIRES

THE BRONZE WAS A BLADE SHOW SPECIAL and we had some standard black handles that sold out as well



Matt did a handful of customs that were very well received as well


 
First time for me as well. Friday was overwhelming. I agree with pretty much everything Terry M. Terry M. said, the signage for directions were not too great. The people were all amazing. I didn’t fully understand what everyone meant until now, when they said they go to blade for the people the knives are just a bonus, it’s true.

So much info you don’t know and don’t get in a YouTube video for first timers. Got an early bird, got there at 6am for 10am doors and there were 2-300 people in front of me, 50 or so of them had been there for 2 days already. It worked out I got mostly everything I was hoping for (minus that Chavez custom lotto) haha.

Overall, it’s such a great time. I am literally thinking about next year already haha

That's probably true! I was only able to make Saturday this year. Fortunately for me its just a long day trip to Atlanta.
 
I should have noted that Vince Evans work always blows me away but his pieces were all sold and thus unobtanium.
