Thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hello. It is such a huge show. By the time people got back to the back rows they were glassy eyed and didn't stop at any tables. Too bad, they missed a lot.

Brad "The Monster" Duncan sat right behind me. This is going to be a great year for him. Look for him to be featured in more than one magazine in the next year. His knives are definitely the best bang for the buck.

Roy Helton sat next to me. His folders are fantastic and we had a great time all weekend long.

I stopped by Patrick Nihiser's table for a few moments. He won best new maker and deserved it (Brad was right up there too, in IMHO). Look for Patrick's work, it is super clean for a new maker.

Jason Knight from SC was just up the aisle. This was his first show and he sold almost everything he had. He makes great forged knives and you will probably see someof his stuff on the purveyor sites after the show.

Another Blade Show first timer and an interesting surprise was Richard Epting. He had folders with his own Damascus blade and bolsters in the $450 range. You just can't touch that. If I was a collector, I would have been right there.

Jason Howell is doing some awesome work. His folders are superb, but my favorite was a small damascus bowie with a stag handle.

I handled an Ed Fowler knife for the first time. I was truly impressed. It fits the hand like you were born with it there.

Zaza Revishvilli had his beautiful silver filligree worked knives. He won the best collaboration with Tim Hancock for a damascus sword. I also chatted with Tim. He had this triple action folder he collaborating with two other makers (names escape me right now) that is very cool. It opens with thumb studs like a regular manual action or you can press the button and the blade comes out 90 degrees for "presentation" mode or you can slide the button and it opens in full auto fashion.

I looked at Kirk Rexroats knives. His folders are stunning to say the least. Even the very plain fixed blade ha had on his table just jumped right out at you.

I didn't get to see much else but my own table and those pesky Jones boys across the way. They have a stag bowie that I just can't believe still sits on their table. Thanks for the Schlotzkies, guys.
