Blade Show West 2019

Traditionals may be the minority at this one but I am excited anyway.
Anyone else from the Porch going to be up in Portland for this?
If so, hope to see you there

Hey, waverave waverave ! Yes, I am planning on going. I suppose I'm not 100% yet, but I've requested time off of work and that's half the battle. I'm about 95% sure I'll be there.
I didn't go last year, so it'll be interesting. I'm taking the kids again. :)
I'm glad to hear you'll be there.
Portland does not suit me nearly as well as Eugene, but it'll still be a great trip.

Oh cool! I admit I am way more excited thinking about Eugene in April but this will do nicely. A bit of a drive from down here. Ill be in town Friday evening and heading out Sunday morning. Going to stop in Eugene on the way home to fill up a few growlers

I wish I was, but I’m not. It’s a bit of a trek from here and a busy time at work for me.

I know there’s a maker from the Sacramento area that will have a table there. Not sure if he’s on the forum or not but the name is Birdvis. From what I’ve seen he’s making some pretty snazzy-looking slip joints. I would definitely check that out. I’ve not met him yet but thought his stuff looks nice.

I had plans and hotel reservations, so of course work is sending me to St Louis...

Birdvis makes great knives! Didn’t realize he was from Sac!

waverave waverave , it's official. I'm going. Just got accommodations and tickets. But my family and I will only be at Blade on Saturday.

We are all going to OKCA again next year, too, though. I've already got reservations for that one. I really recommend OKCA to any moderate knife enthusiast in the Pacific Northwest. It was such a delightful experience. I procrastinated going for years and I regret that. Eugene is wonderful as was the show.

We'll see how Blade Show West is....:)

Great news! I fully expect that BSW will be a totally different "atmosphere" than OKCA but looking forward to meeting some of the traditional makers that will be there like Swenson and Birdvis, to name a few. I might be most excited about meeting Bill Harsey but that is for a different forum :)
I will only be at the show Saturday as well but plan to be there as soon as they open
