Like I said, Who's going?

Should we get together for dinner/drinks?

I'd like to meet you guys so I can put a face to the snide comments

!

I'm there and I'm really excited about this show!

Joe

Let's have dinner Friday night! I'll be there.

I'm looking forward to meeting Rob, especially because he seems to be a great guy and I have three knives on order with him.

As I live a few blocks from the site, perhaps I can suggest some appropriate venues? Let me know what your requirements are and I will try to match them up.

I'm up for it, Looking really forward to meeting Rob and the rest of you.

Friday would be the best day for me, I will be attending the Doce Pares Eskrima Conference on Saturday and Sunday so may not be able to drink too heavily on either of those days.

I did undergrad at UCI, so Costa Mesa is not unfamiliar to me.

I will only be attending the show on Friday.

Dave

someone email me at rcchopra@uai.org tell me what the final plans are...

Ric

I hope to get up there for part of Saturday.

Question for the locals: are there any special city/county laws about what we may carry in our pocketses, or just the usual CA state laws about "thou shalt carry thy folding katana only in it's folded condition"?

SPEEDTECH will be there.

Please drop by and say hello.

Stay sharp!

Ok, so I won't be into CM until early Friday evening. Saturday would be better for me, but I guess Friday is OK too. Well, let's make some final plans quickly.

Joe

I get in Thursday. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting more of the west coast internet knife crowd. Come by the CAMILLUS booth and introduce yourselves!

WOWSERS!!! THATS WAY OUTA MY LEAGUE!! I FEEL BLESSED TO BE MAKING THE DECEMBER SHOW IN LITTLE OLE PIDGEON FORGE TENNESSEE. TAKE LOTS OF PICUTRES FOR US BEGINNERS FOLKS. EVEN IF WE CAN'T BE THERE, IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE WHAT ITS LIKE! TAKE CARE! MICHAEL

I propose the following:

Friday night, after the show, 7:30 pm, Steelhead Brewing Company across the street from University of California.

It may be a bit of a drive, but we can caravan there.

It is a microbrewery with some killer brews like pear cider.

Or someplace close. There are a couple places around South Coast Plaza.

Or, we can all hook up after the show, meet at someone's table and decide there.

Dave

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be there on Saturday, looking forwrd to it, have not been to a show in a few years and this time I'll have the honor of meeting fellow BF members. Are there any BF badges in the offing as at past shows? If not, I'll wear my BF Native in it's neck sheath as an identifier of sorts. I won't be staying for evening drinks though, as I'll have to drive back to San Diego.

Ok, a few suggestions.

1. Lets shoot for somewhere close- a DUI would really screw up a good knife show
wink.gif

2. We really need to decide on Friday or saturday nite!!!!!!!!!!!

3. We do need to come up with a meeting place for those who haven't been to/ aren't familiar with the area. (If one of you gentlemen with a table at the show would be so good as to hand a flyer to BF members that would be great!)

4. We need to HURRY- only TWO DAYS LEFT so, I'll Email everyone who has responded to this thread thus far, and we'll vote! Friday or Saturday; and where to meet.

SycoticSamurai went and woke me up. Here is what I told him:

We have a TGIFridays a block or so from the site. http://www.tgifridays.com/
At: http://www.mapblast.com/mblast/map.mb?&IC=::8:&AD2=601%20 Anton%20Blvd&AD3=Costa%20Mesa,%20%20%20CA%20%2092626&CMD=GEO

It has a fairly relaxed atmosphere.

We also have the Shark Club, great for drinking, but a little pretentious. It is a Pool Hall gone upscale, with real sharks. Pretty cool, but not as relaxed.

The Anti Mall is close, and something to see, but it's better for coffee than beer.

In addition we have a couple of good ramen houses nearby, a great Indian place, a Wahoo's Fish Tacos and some good Persian food.

Please feel free to ask anything else.
