Blade Show West is still scheduled for September 21-23rd in Irvine, CA. We belive that if we cancel the show, we will be allowing the terrorists to win. Our day to day activities must go on.

Many of you have been calling and e-mailing to request information. Admittedly, the airline situation had us on the edge of our seats. We understand that all air travel will be resumed, so we shouldn't have a problem with travel.

If you will be exhibiting or attending the show, and traveling by air, contact your airline and local FAA chapter regarding the knife regulations. It is our understanding that new FAA regulations prohibit the carry of knives or any such article on your person or in your carry-on luggage regardless of blade length or type. They further request that no one transport knives or like items in their check-in luggage as well. When specifically asked, "are there any regulations prohibiting the transportation of knives in checked-in luggage?" the answer was NO.

We again advise everybody to contact their airline/FAA chapter to verify the new regulations.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the show.

OUTSTANDING!, I couldn't agree with you more.

Regards, Greg

I know this was a though decision for the administration and staff of Blade. Thanks for making the statement that terrorists will not rule our lives, life will go on and we of the world of knives will do our part.

If anyone out there has contacted the airlines, could you please let us know if they are allowing knives to be sent in stowage. Makers are going to have to get their knives to the show and buyers are going to have to get them home.

I checked with our local airport, knives are ok in checked in bagage. Flights should be on schedule by Thursday.

Hey Ed, just send all the knives to me. I'll deliver em to you ;)

Seriously folks, I highly reccomend that if you're checking your knives in luggage, make sure you have locking luggage. And don't say anything to people checking your luggage about what's in it.
Have fun, wish I was going instead of staying in the midst of this madness here.

God Bless America!!!

Lifter, I think the best thing to do if you are a maker is to pack your knives in a locked case and tell the inspectors what is in the case and that they are being taken to the Blade Show West. They will probably want to inspect the case so go early.

I do not think it would be a good idea not to tell them what you have in the case or luggage, because if they find it you are going to have a lot of questions to answer and probably will not make your plane.

If you are a buyer returning from the show with knives I still think your best recoures is to be honest with the airport staff. It is my opinion that if you do your best to make sure that your knives are secure these people will be reasonable. Maybe I am wrong, I sure hope not.

I can only make for Sunday because I am a UCLA alum and I am going to the Ohio State game at the Rose Bowl on Sat. Are there going to be a smaller number of booths and events on Sunday?

Thanks for the info. It is nice to see that everything is going to be going ahead. Everyone that can make it to this show should do so.

Looking forward to seeing all you guys there! Missy too!

I'm about 4'10" in my boots, with red eyes and blue hair.

My wife is close to 6'2" in her stocking feet, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

I'm partial to Red leather, she's more into the Black leather....we should be easy to spot.

See you all there! ;)

Hello Lifter:
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner, been working on knives 18 hours a day to get ready for the show. I tried to send the knives to you with this e mail outfit, but the computer outfit couldn't make it work, I modified the keyboard and got one knife in it then it just smoked, next the little message about illegal operation came up and it closed the program. Darn! I did not figure that there was time via the mail. Thanks for the offer.
