I'm leaving Friday headed SW to join the Run (
www.rftw.org Central Route) in New Mexico.
Saturday I lead the group across Colorado, nice easy run on the 2 lanes out on the plains. Sunday, at the Kansas boarder, I go to work as a road guard till DC, the road guards are similar to the motorcycle escorts for funerals, except there's 600+ motorcycles and support vehicles, and we're running the interstates at posted speed

. This will be my 11th time road guarding across US.
We get into DC on Friday (4:00ish), we work with the Park Service and shut down the 66 / 495 interchange and get the group down to the Vietnam Memorial , we're over 1000 bikes by then. I skip the Rolling Thunder Parade, I've done it.
Sunday I head down to Cleveland Tennessee to visit my aunt and uncle, and observe Memorial Day. Sometime that week I'll head down to Marietta, to visit my aunt (north of the big chicken), I usually hang out there till Blade, last year I rode back to Colorado (I'd found out my girlfriend was moving out) and then flew to Atlanta for the show.
My plan was to hang out down there till the show, but with the new job (I've had my reservations longer than my job), pet sitters, the house ..... I'm really pushing the river. Meaning I'm not going to know till the 2nd of May if I can stay.
I've kept all my reservations, but it's looking less and less like I'll be able to stay through the 11th.
I've really been looking forward to this one. I'm rolling 50, and I know some Hog's doing the same, I really want to celebrate with you all at the show ! Get meet in person all the new Hog's we've picked up in the last year, and attend the induction.
And of course, I have an incredible time at the show with the Busse family !!!
Since it's not looking so good anymore, I figured I start sharing my disappointment now, I won't have internet till I get to Tennessee. I'll go down to the pit and have a drink, and take my aunt to Fogo's the week prior, just in case.
If I'm there, cool, if not I'll be back next year.
Cross you fingers.
