BLADE SHOW -Who's going????????

Add one other thing. How many years have you attended?

I've never missed a Blade Show, since the first one in 1982. When my daughter graduated high school I left the show to attend the ceremony and drove straight back in time to make the Saturday night banquet.

My Tables are Row 1, v, w, x I think (front row, end of the row on the right hand side of the room). Be sure to stop by and say hello--and if you want to complain about something I'll be there for that too.

Two tables of knives there are preview of the better knives for three upcoming auctions for everyone to handle, play with, and check for flaws, balance, etc. One is the Legends of Handmade Knives Auction, a second a live auction at the Sevierville TN Parker's Greatest Knife Show on Earth held the week after the Blade show, and the third for an upcoming catalog general auction to be held sometime after the other two. A third table will have the mesc. knives and things I'm accumulated over the past year for direct sale.

And I'm there representing Knives Illustrated Magazine editorially, and the Knives Illustrated Spirit of Steel Show.

And I'm there to see friends, many of whom I only get to see once or twice a year.

And I'm there because this is what I do.

Other than that I don't really know why I'm going!

Can not say I have been going as long as Bruce has, but almost - at least since the Knoxville days :D.

And I'm there to see friends, many of whom I only get to see once or twice a year.

That quote sums up the Blade Show for me. As much as I enjoy the knives, the people mean much more to me.

I was preparing to go and was pretty excited about it.
Not so much for the eye candy, but to meet the people that I've developed friendships with over the past 5 years in this forum.
It's a helluva long ways for me to get there, and there was really no way that I could justify spending so much for a personal trip for me, where my family has to stay home.
Some day, I will be there. But sadly, not this year.

I have only missed one year due to a family illness two years ago.
I have been attending since 1984.
I'll be at table 21-I
Stop in and at least say hello. I love seeing old friends and making new friends.

New guy hear but not a new collector. I'll be going and plan to take four Jimmy Lile hand mades with me to possibly sell. I will put up a new thread about them today.

Be sure to wear a sign identifying yourself as "doug30540" so us Forumites can identify you!

I'll be there....pretty sure that this is my 4th Blade attended.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I'll be at table 11M.

My first Blade Show was in Knoxville 1984.

The only one I have missed since. The Army sent me to South Korea for a year.

I am happy to be going there for the first time this year!

I will not have a table there but I will wear either a black or grey poloshirt with my name, one of my knives and my makers mark on them.
So if you see me pleace come up and say hi! :)

I look forward to seeing the grandness of it all, and even more so, I look forward to meeting people!

Regards
/Magnus

I'll not be there. Make it six for me. I really hate to miss it, but duty calls (but in this case, kinda like havin' to take a crap).

Would have been truly great to meet you my friend!
But I have a feeling that will happen one of these days anyway! :)
It has, as you know, allways been a dream of mine to come and ride my mountainbike in Canada! :D

I'll be there with no money whatsoever. This will be my 6th trip to blade.

It all started six years ago with a decision I made while on ambien to get to this show last minute (with in a week from it). I went out and loved it and made it a habbit. :)

EDIT- I am sad and surprised to hear Lorien and Bob B. wont be attending.. Hopefully we can all meet in the future.

I have, on occasion, helped make peoples' dreams come true with regards to mountain biking in Canada:)
Now I have to work on making my own dream of going to Blade come true:thumbup:

Work is keeping me home this year - I'm pretty bummed - I wish everyone a terrific show.

I would like to be going but I am too busy preparing for the show I host here the end of June. For years I went to Blade but now it is more important for me to make sure I'm ready for the Big Sky event.

I might go next year just to hang out with no table.

Have fun!

Josh

Hey Bob, I really enjoyed our conversations last year.

Bobby, what a memory! Yeah, I am going to miss it all, bigtime, this year. Looked forward to seeing so many of the guys, but such is life. There's always next year. See ya then!
