Okay, how many of you Buck users/collectors plan on attending this year's Blade Show? Have you ever been to one before? My first Blade Show was in 1989, I believe it was the 9th annual show. Back then, the show was held in Knoxville, TN. I missed the 1991 and 1992 shows but have been every year since. My wife loves the Blade Show almost as much as I do! I am a lucky man! The Buck displays are always impressive and make the show worth the trip. I hope to see a lot of you forumites there!

John,

I am considering showing my miniscule assortment of Buck knives at the Blade Show for the first time. How much does it cost? Do you have any tips for those of us who are novices to shows?

Thanks,

John,

I will be there. I cant wait to see your custom knives! Chuck Buck said he plans on attending also.

Doug,

Glad to hear you are considering displaying! I certainly encourage you to display and it won't cost you a cent. The Buck Collectors Club has reserved 20 tables for members. These tables are provided free of charge to the club.

I think the most important thing that newcomers can do is label the knives. I include the name, model number, and handle material. Any other interesting information should also be included. The size of the display does not have to be large either. Last year there were some great displays that were small, but were very interesting. My daughter will be a first time displayer at this year's show. She collects Mother of Pear Buck knives. She has only about 5 or6 knives, but they make a nice display.

Also, your display should be titled and include your name and membership number.

Hope to see you and your display in Atlanta this year Doug!

Joe,

Good to hear that you and Chuck will be at the Blade Show. Do you know yet who else from Buck will be making the trip?

John,
I have not yet heard of anyone else making the trip. I would imagine that several folks from the sales and marketing group will be running the Buck booth though.

Doug,
Don't forget, all first time displayers will receive a custom made knife!
I hope we will see you there.

Can one of you guys post the particulars on the Blade Show? Where in Atlanta, when, etc. Is this a trade show, or will there be a good number of collectors with sales tables? I am mainly interested in US military knives, would this show be worth a four hour drive? Thanks.

Slufstuff,

The Blade Show will be held on June 2-4 this year. It is located at the Cobb Galleria Center. It is one exit past the I-285 &I75 interchange on the northern side of Atlanta.
It is well worth the four hour drive. It is not a trade show. They have 40 tables of collector displays(of which the BCC will have 20). There are many dealers of antique, current, military and just about any knife you could imagine. Oh yeah, and more custom makers than I have ever seen at any show. They also have quite a few free seminars. I don't know of anyone who has attended a Blade show to come away disappointed.

I will also be in attendance at Blade. AKTI is having a board meeting and our annual member meeting the day before the show starts and I will be out for that as well.

John, I am looking forward to seeing your daughter's mother of "pear" collection...

The Blade show is an incredible experience. All variations of knives will be there. It is a who's who of the knifemaking community.
