Hey guys, So normally at Blade show, there isnt much in the way of sword stuff to get particularly excited about. However... This year LONGSHIP Armory was there !

The Amazing John Lundemo

And the also awesome KC Lund

Some of their beautiful and lethal work

and me fanboying like a little kid

Couldnt ask to meet a better couple guys. Their stuff is just beautiful and feels outstanding in hand. I am trying to get them on Blade Forums as makers so if you would like to see that let them know!

John is looking good! I am glad he is getting out to Blade fairly regularly and I think he really likes to talk swords and knives. I had met him one sleepy Sunday at a small show many years ago.

I've not seen him posting much at other boards these past months, probably because he has been busy.

Cheers

Those are some nice-lookin' swords!

I totally geeked out on him and he told me that it made his show. Its funny because he kinda made my show too...lol

I agree that the swords in that booth were the best medievalish and / or fantasy swords at the show by quite a stretch.

I'll be honest I didn't spend much time at the booth, more of an in and out thing. I mostly checked out the swords lying on the table rather than the ones on the rack. They appeared to be of reasonable quality, the medieval type XVa (I think I'm remembering it correctly) was balanced properly although I wonder about the center of percussion on it. The pommel was inelegant in my opinion. It was quite pricey for what it was but seemed to well made. The Viking style sword was a bit off in many regards but I've been spoiled on those. Many of the others were in the fantasy realm, I should have spent more time with them, but was pressed for minutes and didn't. Again, not attempting to be disparaging they were by far the best western or westernish swords at the show.

There were a couple of katana outfits there which were decent and Al Pendray was there was an unfinished scimitar which was quite interesting (although I would be the first to admit that I have no idea if it was a good representation of the form or not.) However, it was made of wootz so that's worth a little something! I spent some time talking to Mr. Cashen, he suggested he might have a rapier or two on the table for next year (here's hoping)!

Yeah, the swords are the most qualitative here. So I suppose that this product must be the common used in our production.

Huh? It might be a good plan to start a new thread perhaps with some more detail?
