Can't say that I am looking for anything specific; just the knifes that happen to blow me off my feet
I usually have a tendency to really like something on a makers table and then try to find an appropriate time to talk to him/her about making something that goes along with the style of knives that they make. (In some cases we push the envelope a little if it is something the maker and I get excited about).
The knives I have ended up with run the scale in prices from one of Fred's La' Griffs to art daggers and folders, and I have been fortunate to have been more than happy with the results of each of them.
If I was a maker (especially one who was starting out and has not had a lot of recognition yet), I would consider my style, look at what is going on the market segment and/or price range that my work falls into, and would work like heck right about now to try to put the best representation of my work on the table. If I was in the mood to do it, I would really push my limits as far as I could without sacrificing the quality to have one or two pieces that would be the center pieces (both literally and figuratively) of the table.
The biggest things I look forward too is renewing the friendships that have been formed over the years, the surprises that are inevitable, and the new people that I get to meet. One of the biggest highlights for me last year was meeting many of the people on the forum and on TKCL. Yekim even made it down all the way from Alaska. Getting to meet people like James M, Senator, Alan Folts, Blues, CJ and others that I had gotten to know a little over the net was a fantastic experience and I am already looking forward to this year. There are so many great people and great knives three days is not long enough.
It would be interesting to hear from those who have somethin definate in mind.
Is it June 2ond yet
