Can't say that I am looking for anything specific; just the knifes that happen to blow me off my feet

I usually have a tendency to really like something on a maker’s table and then try to find an appropriate time to talk to him/her about making something that goes along with the style of knives that they make. (In some cases we push the envelope a little if it is something the maker and I get excited about).
The knives I have ended up with run the scale in prices from one of Fred's La' Griffs to art daggers and folders, and I have been fortunate to have been more than happy with the results of each of them.

If I was a maker (especially one who was starting out and has not had a lot of recognition yet), I would consider my style, look at what is going on the market segment and/or price range that my work falls into, and would work like heck right about now to try to put the best representation of my work on the table. If I was in the mood to do it, I would really push my limits as far as I could without sacrificing the quality to have one or two pieces that would be the center pieces (both literally and figuratively) of the table.

The biggest things I look forward too is renewing the friendships that have been formed over the years, the surprises that are inevitable, and the new people that I get to meet. One of the biggest highlights for me last year was meeting many of the people on the forum and on TKCL. Yekim even made it down all the way from Alaska. Getting to meet people like James M, Senator, Alan Folts, Blues, CJ and others that I had gotten to “know” a little over the net was a fantastic experience and I am already looking forward to this year. There are so many great people and great knives three days is not long enough.

It would be interesting to hear from those who have somethin definate in mind.

Is it June 2ond yet

I'm also not really looking for anything specific, I'll just try and pick up what I really like the look of. I would like to get a Synergy in my hands though and see what that feels like.

I'll be picking up my Ed Caffrey san mai bowie at the show. I'll also have some cash to get whatever just grabs me once I get there. But Gus had it right about meeting friends and forumites at the show. I'll remember the good times I had meeting everyone from the forums, the BF dinners, the time a bunch of us got lost just blocks from the show

, and the nights hanging out beside the pool until 3:00am. The people definitely make the show. The knives are what bring us together. (OK - the knives ain't too shabby either

My primary activity will be the same as Gus' - looking for a maker with his own style, who is willing to push beyond their current envelope with something new.

Nothing off the table, thanks!

I think I ripped up that envelope a couple weeks ago. But if any of you find yourself with something left over on Sunday afternoon, I'd be happy to get a new envelope and start over. I look froward to seeing you there.

Hi Anders,
I am sorry that you are not going to be able to make the long trip and that I will not be able to meet you and see your knives. Hopefully sometime in the future!
Blade puts on the show and they can be reached in the U.S. at 800-258-0929. If you have an interest in getting a table for next year, it is best to call them as soon as you can. If I can help you or anyone else with reservations etc., email me. I live in Atlanta so I'll be glad to help out.

Hey Jerry H. hope I get the chance to finally meet you at or before the show!

Tim H. - glad you are making the trip. I am very much looking forward to saying hello and to get a chance to see some of your work in person for once (not that all those beautiful photos are bad. Just that seeing the work is even better).

All you folks on TKCL - keep Friday night open. Steve and I are planning what should be another enjoyable get-together dinner at the Waverly.
Gus

Jerry -

Since I know that your current envelope is a great big one, I can't wait to see how you want to expand it! Look very much forward to chatting!

See you all there, stop by and say hi at the show, and stop at Ruby's after the show as that is where the real knife stuff goes on, at least if I remember correctly! (Mike Turber bought the drinks last year and I took him up on it!) Thanks again mike for the great time last year!
