Is there a source for getting just a new blade for the 110. Like a place that has just a stock of different metals, coating styles etc. I'm getting a custom 110 made but I want to source a s30v or other premium steel blade without buying a new knife just to strip its blade.
 
Good luck on that! I needed an S30V blade (110 size) and wound up buying an Alaskan Guide and knocking it apart. Buck hasn't been doing blade upgrades for many years. You used to be able to send a 110 with a 420HC blade to Buck, and they would put a premium blade in it for $30.00. They no longer offer this service. If it was a money losing deal for Buck, I would like to see them reoffer the service at a higher fee.
 
the only replacement blades I ever see are damascus on the bay. I cant recall ever seeing upgrade steel but occasionaly and old 440c
 
I know you can get a Damascus 110 blade from a popular online auction site.A man in Idaho makes them.If you're going to re-blade a 110 that might be a cool :cool: option to consider.:)
 
Hmmmm... seeing that I live in Idaho this does have some appeal to me. Is there a way to point me in that direction? The only reservations in have about that is in was told damascus is prone to rust on an edc.
 
Idaho's climate is not as bad as other places . Unless, its stainless Damascus it will stain but a little care can prevent that . DM

As a side note, the snakeriverknives lives 15 min from my house, he makes Damascus blades. I looked online there are Stainless Damascus variants, i emailed him to see if he can make a Stainless Damascus blade for my project.

lol i even asked if he could make the balde a drop point.....i can dream and it cant hurt to ask.

SCORE! I got off the phone with Snakeriverknives he does not do stainless... but he has a 110 drop-point in feather style Damascus waiting for me.... sweeeeet.

If anyone is looking for a Damascus blade non buck Grand is an awesome guy to deal with.
