blade steel for a serrated blade?

Are you making or buying? H1 is said to be good serrated, so Spyderco's salt series would be a good choice.

I recommend Rostfrei. :D

But for real, s30v is a great steel for serrations. And as long as the serrations are done correctly, it will cut for a very long time. I find vg-10 too soft for serrations to be effective.

Also, H1.

Hello, I am looking for recommendations for steel choice for a serrated blade?

Anything with 1% or more carbon.
440C
AUS10
ATS-34
154CM
VG10
S30V
etc.

I agree ZDP-189 works well. I have one (Spyderco Endura) and love it. Some claim it chips easily, but I have had no problems over the last 5 months or so I have EDC'd it.
