I was browsing knives, and came across a few with interesting materials. Does anyone have experience with either of the following steels:

Stavax
Ou-31
HAP72

Stavax: Seems like a marginal improvement in steel, with corrosion and polishability.

Ou-31: 64HRC, 3 times tougher than D2, and 10 times longer edge holding that ATS-34 according to dew hara's site.

HAP72: Supposedly 68-69 HRC, and Rockstead is said to be working on this steel for research. Rockstead on HAP72:

I am extremely interested in huge leaps in material technology, and these steels seem like very good contenders. Any experience?

Stavax: Why even use it to begin with for a blade or any cutting toll application? 0.3 Carbon and 0.3 Vanadium

Composition

OU-31: Looks like a Japanese equivalent of CPM 3V. I've read a thread on here praising OU31 in Japanese knives.

HAP-72: I've never seen a blade made of it but it seems extremely promising. Similar to CPM Rex 86. Carpenter has their own version called HS-60.
