Hello my friends, I'm new here Grenville. I'm not gonna compare another knife. I just want to know what anyone thinks about the TOPS STEEL EAGLE 105 E ? I don't care about anything just strength of the blade.

These kinds of questions always make me chuckle, though I understand why they happen. I could write an essay with how many variables factor in to the answer.

It's .250 thou thick 1095 at 56 to 58 hrc. 1095 isn't a super tough steel compared to other steels, is softish quarter inch thick 1095 tough enough for abuse? Yes.

Yes, I think it is very tough. The post I quoted above perfectly explains how tough it is. If you are wondering what this means, it can be briefly translated as follows: Tough as hell.

Yeah, what do you need to do with it? From the way you've phrased the question, it sounds like you should get a prybar in addition to a knife.

It's always good to do some research before posting a thread, such as looking up reviews on YT, and if you still have questions, come and ask, steel eagle was Tops first knife and hasn't been discontinued for a reason

I do not like that for such a price they shortened the blade from 7" to 5" but kept the tickness the same. As a side note, shinyedges shinyedges , do you think I should buy a bandana If I also decide to get this knife instead of Delica?:)

Not sure about the OP, I use them pretty much as woods demo tools. Chopping, batoning, prying, etc. they cut well, but I’m not whittling or getting the finest feather sticks with a knife like that.
