Blade Tech IWB Holsters?

Im thinking about purchasing a Blade Tech IWB holster for concealed carry. I ve read some reviews on the net and watched some videos on YouTube and people seen to be very happy with Blade Tech IWB holsters. The holster is for a HK USP Compact.

Does anyone own one? What do think about it? Would you advice me to get the j-hooks or pull-the-dot loops?

Have any of you tried another brand of IWB holsters? How comfy are IWB holsters when doing ordinary stuff like walking, sitting at a desk, driving, etc?

This is the one im considering: http://www.blade-tech.com/product.php?productid=820

Any advice is appreciated.

I have one for my Colt Govt. IWB, 15 degree slant. It is a very solidly made holster.

I've got two that I bought about 7 years ago. Both have the loops and F.B.I cant.

I wouldn't get one that isn't adjustable. For me, it is a lot more comfortable when driving to have it canted,
and it makes for easier presentation. Both of mine have the loops, I've never tried the J-Hooks.

They will probably last a life time, and the retention is very good. You can adjust it to suit you. Some people like them very tight, and others prefer just barely snug.

They are about as comfortable as you can expect from KYDEX. For me, leather is more comfortable.
I have a couple leather De Santis and Galco's that are nice, and are very comfortable.

If you have never worn an IWB KYDEX holster, it may feel a little awkward at first, but it won't take long to get use to it.

I can vouch for Blade-Tech. I've been using their products since I got my first CCW permit back in the early nineties.

Forget the J-clips.....use the loops. Loops are my personal preference because they feel more secure than the hooks.

It sounds like you're set on a blade tech.
I've been doing some research and just settled on a KHolster 'little Moon' for my S&W model 60. It's an alternative to the Crossbreed Super Tuck, which is apparently the most comfortable holster of all time?

Thanks for the input guys. Its much appreciated.

Ive narrowed it down to either Blade-Tech or Comp-Tac with pull-the-dot-loops. Both get great reviews.

I might be a bit biases...but I do know a thing or two about Blade-Tech Holsters.

For your specific firearm, I would suggest you take a look at the Nano holster instead. I wore a Blade-Tech IWB holsters for 3 years before I started with company. I currently wear an IWB Eclipse holster for my SA XD .45 Service.

The nano is a weee bit thinner which allows for more of a flex while being worn, but still stable and secure to hold your firearm. There is a single point retention screw that allows the end user to adjust their retention. The PDS (Pull dot snaps) are adjustable to 1.25, 1.5, 1.75" belt. The placement of the PDS have a bit of a wider platform, stabilizing the holster while on your belt. Furthermore, the can't is adjustable for either FBI or straight drop. You simple unscrew one of the PDS and drop it to the lower DOT.

If you aren't set on the traditional style of IWB holsters, I would highly suggest you take a look at the Eclipse. Its an OWB holster but you can actually purchase an IWB conversion kit (Just released it at SHOW), allowing you to have both an IWB and OWB holster.

Hope this information helps!

I posted a sticky to the 2012 catalog on the Blade-Tech Subsection for you to reference.

Thanks for your input Brian. I had not considered the Nano before now. I checked it out on the website and my first impression is that it looks like what i need, but im wondering how much im giving up in terms of robustness compared to the regular IWB?

Is the single retention screw enough to hold the gun securely in place?

Ive also got a question about shipping, so i sent you a pm.

Thanks again,

Just wrote you a reply and it decided not to post!*

Sent you 2 replies via PM.

The slight difference in material is not giving up robustness of the holster. As I mentioned earlier, it gives the holster just enough flex to be a bit more comfortable. The single point retention screw is more then enough to hold the firearm secure. I've been using our Eclipse holster for a while now, and it also only has a single point retention screw. I've never had an issue with my XD 45 service coming un-holstered. I have a 2 hour training sessions every Sunday which often includes me going to the floor in some painful lock and my firearm has never even given a slight indication of it coming out.

Take a look at the BT subsection and click on the sticky. You can take a look at the 2012 catalog to see all the holsters we offer. Our website isn't up to date.

Blade-Tec makes great stuff. After a lot of searching, I found happiness with a low cut OWB holster for my Glock 20. With a loose T-Shirt it didn't outline and was a lot more comfortable for an average sized guy like myself.

Well, it came down to Blade-Tech and Comp-Tac. I contacted them both with shipping questions. Compt-Tac didnt bother replying, so my business went to Blade-Tech, despite their astronomically high international shipping costs

Brian, thanks for your help. I placed my order 5 mins ago. I appreciate it, when a company takes time to answer enquiries. That turned out to be, what tipped the scale. Now all you need to do, is to offer cheaper international shipping. Im sweating by the thought of my next purchase from you :D
