I see these blade Tech Knives on ebay, some go for a decent amount of money...What's the reputation of these knives? Anyone have or use them?

I have two. A Rijback, and a MLEK. Both are s30V, and very well made. I know the Rijback has Ti liners ( is actually a framelock), the MLEK has, IIRC, steel liners.

They are sturdy, high quality, and very ergonomic.

I've not tried their lower priced "lite" line of the same knives, which are I believe imported. The Rijback has been dropped. They make different versions of the MLEK, and the hunter knife, going up to the "Extreme" version.

They are pretty pricey knives, but well made. The website has some of the knives listed as being made from CPM 154 , and some of S30V, as well as the "440C" lite models.

Try them out. If you like the feel of them, there's no reason not to buy them. The ones I have are worth the price I paid for them.

I've known Tim Wegner (BladeTech) since he was working out of his garage. (I've lived around the corner.) He's always designed knives for use, and demanded a certain level of preformance. I know he stopped working with Spyderco when they started going to China. I talked to him at the Blade show and he's really happy now he's manufacturing (instead of designing).

I've got two of his early blades and they are seriously good at doing what they are supposed to do.

bladetech knives are excellent knives, mr. wegner is a professional and demands high quality, his knives are made for hard use and he stands behind his product.

Just bought my first blade tech the other day .It's a Blade tech hunter pro lite. Which is the cheapest line they offer I think. I'll tell you though, I love this knife. It's horribly ugly in my opinion, but the most ergonomic thing I've ever owned. with incredibly solid lock up.seems like a real quality knife.

I have a couple of the Pro Lite's. I just noticed today that Blade-Tech's now using AUS8 for the Pro Lite blades; mine are 440C and made in Taiwan.

Don't use 'em much but they're very nicely made. Very sharp right out of the box with super tight lockup and some nice detailing.
