I'm thinking of buying the new Blade-Tech mouse, but on the website of Blade-Tech it says it's a flat-grind, while the picture is like this on their site.

which looks like a hollow grind (or at least not a full flat-grind).

But I found another picture which looks more like a flat-grind (not full, but more then on the other picture)

I like the first one better.

Does anyone know if they both exists or is the first only a proto?

Thanks,
Ted

its flat, try the ole spydercos(hollow ground) if you can find one ...they cut like mad.

There are hollow ground Mouse knives at www.newgraham.com and www.bladeart.com The problem is that you have to put up with really great VG-10 steel which will spoil you rotten. If you can deal with a flat ground blade, the Mouse II will sport that S30V everyone's been talking about.

Having read the forums for a while, and the Blade-Grind FAQ, I thought flat-ground was generally preferred (although the pics on BladeArt show it is almost a sabre grind, for all you nit-pickers)

I like the flat, myself.

I just hope Mr. Wegner picks a grind so this finally gets released!!

FYI
Re: Mouse 2 and Weg Prof Hunter.
Both are flat ground 1/8" S30V, RC 58-60. (The last batch certified at 59)
The Mouse 2 has a high flat grind making it a very tough but sweet cutter.
The original pics were of a hollow ground proto.
Our new website will be up soon with updated info and pictures.

Thanks
Tim

Looks great. I beleive the term for the grind is saber grind. Which is basically a half flat grind.

Just took it apart, which went very easy.
Was a bit afraid to do it since it's a lock-back and they can be difficult to assemble, but this one is simple.
When you remove the original clip-side scale, everything stays nicely in place.

If you click on the pictures you get a large one!

Scale-scews are Torx-6, Pivot-scew is Torx-15, Clip-screws are Philips-1

Yay Tim Wegner!
I definitely want one ;)

Thanks for the great pics, ted! Could you show us how it looks closed?
