My S30V, G-10 Blade-Tech Mouse II arrived this morning, one week after I ordered it from Stellar Knives (http://stellarrigs.com/stellarknife/Fine_Folders_Gallery.html). Actually, it was drop shipped directly from Blade-Tech (http://www.blade-tech.com/product.php?productid=805&cat=279&page=1). This is a very nicely made little knife. Fit and finish is quite good and the lock-up is excellent. It's certainly people friendly, in fact I was holding it in my hand when one of my senior partners walked into my office this morning, and it didn't seem to cause him any concern (fortunately, I wasn't fondling my CF Military when he stopped in!)

Here are a few photos I did this evening. I'll get some comparison shots with some of my other knives later this week so you can see the relative size.

What a beautiful knife. I gotta get one sooner or later. The ultimate sheeple friendly knife. This sounds weird, but what box did it come in? I'm looking for a mystery knife I saw awhile back very similar to it...was it a red box?

AM

Thanks. Do get one! I can see numerous small cutting jobs for which the Mouse is perfect, where a large knife is unwieldy.

The box is white. I left it at the office, so I can't share any photos this morning, but there wasn't any red on it.

Dang. And so the mystery continues.

But I think this is what I'm looking for, or darn near close.

Say, you can take some photos of it closed or next to some really common knives (delica, para, minigrip etc)?

I think we might have a sleeper hit on our hands.

Apparently, you could buy the same design from Spyderco, but in steel handles.

As soon as I get a chance, i will take and post some photos of the Mouse with some of my other knives. I am preparing for trial, which might start tomorrow morning, and it's seriously interfering with my knife photography!

That stupid justice system, getting in the way of our amateur photography. Hopefully you're joining the trial as a juror...

Spyderco discontinued all of the mouse line a few years back.

Actually, I'm lead trial counsel for the plaintiff. I'd rather be taking pictures of my knives.

the spydie version was a lot more expensive too IIRC, the new mouse is priced right anyway.

a very nice knife if ya want one w/a blade that short, would be a great edc utility knife imho.

I greatly prefer the G10 handles for looks and grip. That's what I was looking for when I started these dozen threads. I wanted a lot of modern tactical knife influence in a tiny itty bitty people friendly knife. And this knife delivers!

Well "rs2" just as I told you on the other Forum I am a real fanatic on that MOUSE. I challenge anyone to find a knife that size with the ergonomics and a blade design as comparable as the MOUSE is. It is rare when I buy a new knife that is not a Spyderco or a Benchmade. But when I saw the Blade-Tech version of the MOUSE I immediately grabbed it. In my top 5 of production knife companies I definitely have Blade-Tech high on the list.

I would be willing to bet that I could skin a deer with a MOUSE. Now I'm sure it would take over an hour :o but I bet I could do it. That's just how well that "little fellow" is designed. Why Spyderco's version of that blade never got off the ground is a total mystery to me.
