What other cool 2" folders are there? Why did Spyderco quit making the Meerkat? I like it but want a smaller handle.

The Boker Subcom is the absolute best bang for the buck 2" folder. Well made, well designed, good ergos, AUS-8 holds an edge very well, easy to sharpen, just overall great knife.

The Kershaw Baby Boa is very nice. Surprisingly, all 3 of my fingers fit on the handle. The design is one of the nicest aesthetically to me (it looks more like a Baby Tirade than a Boa...the Baby Boa and KO Tirade are my favorite designs). AO is fast, blade has a lot of belly and slices great, I personally love recurves, and the attention to detail is great.

The Al Mar SLB is very nice also. I don't own one, but handled my friend's and the handle is well contoured. Very well made and feels very solid. For the price, I'd pick the Subcom tho, but I'm poor.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

I like the Subcom myself. Check out the whole line, though. They come in a few very different flavors -- belly, combo edge, wharncliff, and rescue. You can go to the Boker forum here and read about them, and the slightly larger Trance -- also a winner.

the subcom is pretty darned cool imho, but the mouse is also, i would take the subcom for SD and the mouse for utility, just depends on what ya want it for.

The Mouse is cool, especially in CF & S30V. But like they said above me, the Subcom is a great buy& a sturdy little knife.

I had a Blade tech Mouse and got rid of it. Way to thick edge but this was the off shore version. Look at Blade tech Ganyana or the wonderful Dragonfly by Spyderco.

lol

did you loose one?

Go the Subcom, I hated little knives because they wouldn't give a good grip, but then I saw a review in KI about the Subcom and thought I'd buy one.

I ended up getting the black blade with half serrations (only way to get black)
but the other day I took off the serrations with my stone.

The grip on this 3 finger knife is sensational!!!! I'm telling you get this one you won't regret it.

I'm going to also grab a fixed blade for throwing in my hunting pack (enough belly to skin), a wharncliff to pimp and a plain edge for edc.

happy hunting

hey Frosty23, the Spin is pretty small.......almost like a two finger knife that feels much better with a lanyard....still a tuff little knife though....
I've got a Bladetech Mouse Lite and its G10/S30v version....both are very good knives but the Dragonfly, Subcom folder series, byrd Robin series are highly recommended....
U can't go wrong with a Subcom... :)
