Blade Tech Rijbak, a real "keeper"

I just received a LNIB Rijbak I purchased off the exchange here.

In the last three & half years I've owned nearly a dozen quality, high end production folders as well as several customs looking for that knife with a combination of features that describes my own personal description of "ideal".

I was basically searching for robust construction, high quality components, excellent fit, finish, & quality control. Rock solid lock, deep pocket ride, well finished satin blade, good factory edge, strong tip, comfortable deep pocket carry, grippy & comfortable in the hand & finally something that simply appealed on a visceral level. A relatively reasonable price was a plus.

I believe that I found "it" in the Rijbak. I don't have a single nit to pick so far, it even says "USA" on the blade.

I didn't mean this to sound like an infomercial but I am damn well pleased. I'll keep everyone posted if any issues show up..Ruff Cobb, Durango, CO

I'm not surprised you like it. Others have said it's a first class production. They started with a great designer and got it built by people who have been turning out excellent knives for a while now.

I've had my rijbak for about 6 months now. I like it as much as when I first bought it, and no "issues" have shown up. The knife is well made, the S30V seems to have been heat treated very well, no problems there, etc. All in all it's a keeper. Joe

Don't put too much pressure on the pocket clip, though---all those holes in it make it susceptible to breakage if it gets bent outward too much. I caught mine on a tarp seam when I was changing oil and when I moved the clip snapped off at the top hole.

Getting somebody at Blade-tech to call me back to arrange for a new clip hasn't been easy--I left a voice mail and used their web email form and nobody has bothered to get in touch with me.

That was my knife you have Ruff and if I hadn't started to collect Spyderco(got a 92mm Citadel for it) exclusively this year I'd of never traded it off for you to buy. It's a nice knife and when it left my hands it was pristine, enjoy!

They are nice knives & I constantly find myself carrying it probably more than any other folder I have. I actually traded it, but fortunately we traded back. It was probably a good thing because I knew I was going to trade the knife I got in trade for it, but once I got the Rijbak back, it's here to stay, lol.

It could be a little smaller, but it carries well. For whatever reason (I never asked), the person I got it from had 2 clips for it (One black coated & the other beadblasted), but I haven't had an issue with the clip, yet.

Jill, I received the Rijbak in the same condition you sent it & CL01 look at the previous posts & there is a member who snapped a clip who might be interested..The Rijbak has a home now. Ruff Cobb

It is really an excellent knife, especially for the money. I am very happy with it. Blade-Tech just makes a hell of a knife.
