Hi guys - - I'm wondering which of these you prefer ? I own and have tried a few Spydercos and like the round hole because it seem to rotate easily around my thumb. Haven't tried a Blade-Tech yet. (I'm considering a Spyderco Dragonfly FRN and a Blade-Tech Mouse II). I do have a one hand opener Victorinox, and don't find its elongated hole to be as comfortable or fast to operate. But, the Blade-Tech hole looks much more rounded than that on the Vic. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks, - -

For a "V"ariety of reasons the V hole works better for me. It is pretty easy to modify a round hole and create a V hole with a Dremel tool and the proper grinding bits. Mr. Dragon meet Mr. Dremel. I see a mouse around the corner.

I've got several of each. For me, the real spyderco round, non chamfered hole works better than any imitators, or other similar designs. Just a personal preference, not a statement of which is the better system. The Blade tech hole, while not as good feeling to me is adequate for openings. The Mouse is a great design. The MLEK is nice too, and the Rijjback is one of the best knifes released lately IMO. It's very strong, and well designed and crafted. Joe

I really like Spyderco knives, and with that said, I prefer the "hole" shape on my Blade Tech Pro Hunter over the round Spydie holes. I just seem to be able to get a little better grip (if that's the right word).

I do like the shape of the Blade Tech hole but overall I like Spydercos better. The Mouse is a really nice knife. I had one and regret selling it.

+1 on the Spyderco hole. The BladeTech V-hole isn't bad at all, and I love my Pro Hunter, I just worry that the large size and shape of the V-hole might weaken the blade a bit.
