Blade-Tech

In what way(s)? The only real connection is Tim Wegner and his Mouse design.

well, i had a pro hunter. it was a great knife. tight lockup, takes an edge. but pretty darn ugly imo.

the way I understood it was, Wenger used to design for Spydie.
Now designs for BT..

I own many many spydercos and hae owned a few bladetechs. they are both excellent knives. I actually preer blade tech, the only problem is they are difficult to get. I am itching for new graham to get the rijbak back in stock as we speak.

He is the owner of Blade-tech. He designed the Wegner folder and the Mouse for Spyderco. When Spyderco discontinued these two Tim begin to produce them and I'm thinking that he uses the same type of offset pivot(?) for the Hunter series as Spyderco uses on their Military model. Bear in mind this is what I think I remembered reading, and it may not be accurate at all.

The Rijhbak looks awesome but the one I saw in the trades did not have the huge logo and were nicer than the production version. I am a spydie fan ut the chance to get a nice production Lightfoot(don't like the CRKT version) is very tempting.

The Rijbak IS a very nice knife. It has a lot of blade packed into the handle. This is the smallest of my edc's, yet I don't feel "underequipped" with it. I read that Blade-Tech was coming out with some with carbon fiber grips and some with silver twill grips. I can take or leave cf, but I would like to see a Rijbak wearing some of the silver twill G-10!

I own Emerson,Lone wolf, Al mar sere 2k and Blade-Tech. IMO the Blade-Tech rijbak is the best knife I own. F&F is great. Lockup is very solid. the blade is amazing. I have looked a a number of knives and for me the rijbak is the best.

Rijbak certainly has the very best fitting of a frame lock I've viewed. Most frame locks just have a thick piece of the handle that goes about halfway or less behind the blade. Not the Rijbak, it's fitted to the blade base very precisely and everything has been cut at a nice angle, with the lock right behind the first part of the blade with its entire width. Just as it should be- IMO.
