Blade thickness AK-47

Hi,
I have a full size AK-47 folder that I bought in June 2010. It is one of the current Tri-Ad lock versions.

When comparing it to one of my Tri-Ad Recon 1 folders, the blade is thicker, even though both are listed as 3.5mm. The AK-47 blade is almost 4mm thick.

Does anybody have a recently purchased AK-47 that they could check the blade thickness on? I'm wondering if they switched to a thinner blade stock by now (because it is listed on Cold Steel's website as 3.5mm).

Took a look at my Recon 1 Tanto and AK-47. I think you are right, the AK-47 spine does seem to be thicker than the Recon 1. Both this blades are purchased within the last 2 yrs.
