Blade tip touches lanyard?

I just got my first small sebenza 21 the other day and noticed that the tip of the knife blade can actually be made to touch the lanyard where it's tied through the bolt. I think it might be rubbing against the tip of the knife while the knife is closed.

Have any of you crk owners noticed that over time your lanyard gets worn away due to this?

Yep. The lanyard was looking kinda rough on my Large Insingo so I ordered a new one from a dealer that carries a good selection of CRK after-market accessories. I chose a charcoal lanyard with silver bead and it seems to be tied closer to the pin. Looks pretty good, imo, and stays away from the tip so far...

*ETA: Of course, you could always just retie your original lanyard. :)

The lanyards on the versions with the little stud, you can flip them over as MRaymond stated. The lanyard goes through the center of the pin, then is wrapped around one side of the pin to complete the loop to start the braid of the lanyard. One way the cord will touch the blade and could possibly get cut over time, the other way there will be no contact. Just takes a simple disassembly/reassembly to fix.

I'm not sure I get it, I took the knife apart (mine has the bolt where the cord runs through the pin) and couldn't figure it out.

Imagine this. On either end of the pin theres a red dot and a yellow dot. On the left (non lock side) is the yellow, on the lock side is the red. Flip it so the yellow is on the lock side, and the red is on the non lock side.

On the knife I have, it doesn't matter which way you flip the pin, it's the same result.I flipped it and it's the same problem because the lanyard didn't move any further from the knife tip.

It's this pin. http://www.gpknives.com/chrisreevesmalllanyardcharcoalbluespacer.html

Is it that lanyard as well? That's the standard crk lanyard pin. Maybe try tying it again but through the hole, if it isn't already.

I just tied my own with a monkey first on the end, where it went through the lanyard pin I just melted the end of the para cord and it doesn't touch any thing, plenty of clearance, enough to even rotate the pin 270 degrees through the arc.

It's an option.

On my small diamond plate 21 it rubs a bit but after 6 months now I haven't seen and negative effect on the lanyard

If it's going through the hole in the lanyard pin, their will be one side that does NOT have the lanyard (ie, metal). it is that side that needs to be towards the blade (in the closed position).
