this is a new design for me but not a new concept. It is an interchangeable blade fixed...push the button on top of the handle and pull the blade out! This one has four blades, but any number or blade shape can be done. I can also fit new blades to the same handle should the owner decide he wants another. From a leather punch to a filet blade.

Shameless plug time....this one is available on the fixed blade exchange

Hope you all enjoy it

I got to see one of these at the Plaza Show, a very well thought out knife. The blades interchange quite easily. The only issue I see is that of a carry system, like anyone will actually use it.:)

That was the first time I got to meet Bailey and his work is nothing short of outstanding. I know I will be ordering from him soon. My problem is making a decision, too many choices. Did I mention what a nice fellow he is.

Thanks for showing us this.

If I know Bailey at all, there is NO play whatsoever. I saw one of these a LONG time ago. I think Scott Sawby had made it and a friend of mine from Kaneohe had it. Came with three blades, and had a lock back for the release. Great concept. I have all the parts 90% completed for such a project in one of my drawers, been there for about 15 years!!

Keith,

The lock up is very tight on this. Bailey, the show was fun, just seeing Big John dressed up on Friday worth the trip.

Keith,

The lockup on this design is with tapers. The blade tangs are tapered and set into a matching seat. I didn't rely on square shoulders as the least little bit of trash or whatever would produce a problem. The lock is also a pretty steep angle as locks go. This way the lock tries to pull the blade into the handle seat.

The hard part is to surface the blades just right so they will go in and out, but not be sloppy. My surface grinder is not that good, so it is a challenge:)

I had the privilege & opportunity to meet with Bailey and his beautiful wife at the Plaza show. His work is superb! I was so impressed, I ordered the displayed knife. As a matter of fact, Bailey is that MY knife? ;)

No blade play at all! Bailey's attention to fitting and detail is incredible!

Win Heger, I plan on using mine! :D

I would help or at least let my wife, she's the pack mule around here, she does all the manual labor around here. But we're just too stinkin far away:rolleyes: I'm not sure if I'm gonna get to make Johnny's hammer-in in January or not. I hope I can. Hey Bailey, what's the url address so I can look at the knife above a little closer. It's pretty slick from what I can see but would like to get a closer look. Yall be good, Dwayne
