Everyone is doing separate threads for their "booty", so what the heck:)!
Everyone told me to expect custom knives for sale at my first blade show, so I came fully prepared to bring home a Bose or two (optimist that I am) and in fact, I took delivery of a Harness Set, by Tony, which I will show here. However, my name was not drawn for a Bose knife, and I seemed to be a step behind the ones for sale by others, that I fancied.
Moping around the show however, I found some much ignored oldies, and scored a passle of pulchritudinous pretties! (Did I say that:eek:??)
Hoo Sez the Blade is just for Customs?? Without further adieu and BS, here they come!!

These two pics show a couple of Schrade Cut. Co. Peachseeds, a larger pen with a clip master, and a sheepfoot jack. Then a boy's jack with a "don't lose it" chain, and an unusual Shapleigh gunstock stockman. I have shown the backs for you detail people, like myself. I have seen that unusual bone jig on other old Schrades, and often wondered if it could pinpoint a time period, but that info may be lost.

Another bunch. The reason it took me so long to post these, is I just picked them up at the P.O. today. I did not trust the belly of the plane to disgorge them at the end of my flight, so I shipped them to myself. Luggage does go missing.

The top one is a junior sized Remington Harness Jack. First one I've seen, at 3 1/4". I have a few larger ones in my HJ collection, so this makes a nice addition. The etch is still visible, but I couldn't get it to show on my scanner. Then there is an old Ulster, with the pre-WWI stamping. Next an E.K.Tryon with the etch in near mint shape. Kinda looks like a Camillus or Schrade sub-contract. Last is a square (flat) bolstered Schrade large jack. A duplicate for me, but I think older. The arched tang stamp, and hand-jigged bone, along with the peened rivets, make it an early one.

This is going to be good.

The only thing better was handling them in person while Charlie told us about each knife. Rock on with your Farnorth self.

This one knocked my socks off!! My feet still feel the breeze!! I've heard from a few old timers, that Remington in fact did NOT make all their own knives. Among others, Imperial, king of the budget knife, made some. This strongly resembles the famous Remington Sowbelly handle pattern, but it is stamped Imperial!! Pity there's a crack in the handle, but that detracts not a whit from its possible historical significance. My eye tells me this is a legit knife; I sure would like to hear more about this piece of history!!

Great Grabs, Charlie! Beautiful Bone & Blades!
Thanks for the look-see, my Friend!

:thumbup:While they may not be custom they are still IMHO a real close second (sooo don't flame me for that) but these are getting dang near as hard to get as customs:grumpy:!! Just have to be at the right place at the right time;)Love them Schrades:D.

And then. . .AND THENNNN!!!!
Lorrrrdeeee Doooo, I saw this!! And me in my bare feet, I stubbed my toe on this beauty. Now I collect old Schrades, and looking through the catalogs looking for stuff I need to add, I thought 4-blade cattle knives made good advertising, but maybe they didn't make too many, if any. Never saw one live before, but Lo and BEEEhold;

Did I tell you I loved the Blade show??

No wonder your back was hurting, carrying around all that steel would have broken mine. Some great scores Charlie, Next year, I am hiring you to lead me around.:)

As great as Charlie's scans are, there's nothing quite like actually holding these beauties in your hand as you admire the fit, finish and mechanics of each of these great knives.

Being around Charlie when he shares these with you across a table is infectious. In fact it motivated me toward the purchase of my vintage Winchester which was previously displayed here on the forum.

Great knives, Charlie!!!

So this is not the last one, but I am running out of time for tonight. Bruckmann made some high end knives, for distinguished Germans, and other gents of the world. Most are smaller to medium knives suitable for vest pockets, but still able to open your wine, or file your nails. So who was this honkin' thing made for?? One large whisker under 4" long, it's the biggest, and prettiest one I've seen, all at the same time. Rainbow pearl, and mint as can be, it takes a big galoot to carry this one!

Thanks for all the nice comments, and watch this space for the rest, in the next day or two!

Great knives Charlie. One of the boniest threads I've seen in a while. Terrific Monday night bonus. I think that slim gunstock Shapleigh with the diamond shield is a slick one. Looks streamlined with the sleek clip blade. Don't recall seeing that pattern before. What are the secondary blades?

Charlie, does the two blade Ulster Jack have steel liners and bolsters? Larry

That is a beautiful Bruckmann. I haven't seen one like it.

And of course I love that large Schrade jack with the flat bolsters. A classic for sure.

Charlie, I forgot to say beautiful knives and I really enjoyed meeting you at the Show. Larry

Wouldn't you know, the paper bag just burst. Oh what the heck... :D

GREAT knives Charlie  I REALLY like the Remington Harness Jack, I've been wanting one for quite a while. - great stuff.

Peter

Charlie, one of the things I'll always look back on & remember about Blade '08 was hanging out with you at Al's table & looking over grafting knives & rare $2k scout knives :D
It really was a pleasure meeting you,I hope we wind up in Atlanta again.
Nice haul here,I like that sheepfoot jack. Those blades would make a great work knife for me,they really knew how to do it back then.
Congrat's on the Treasure,
-Vince
