One of my family's inside jokes is about "Karate University." Just last week in Oklahoma City, we passed a "Doggy University" that was like a block away from "Doggy Daycare." So like once Fido graduates day care, he goes to University? Do the less ambitious dogs go to Doggy Community College?

Anyhow, with Blade coming up, don't forget about "Blade University." I'm leading a panel discussion about writing for knife magazines. There are a half a dozen classes that look interesting to me, but alas I paid a zillion dollars for the chance to sell my knives off my table.

What classes are you going to?

the Michael Walker one would be amazing, but I won't be pullin in til around that time

Im going to both of the both of the Bob Kramer classes. One is Designing Kitchen Knives, and the other is How to Run a Successful Knifemaking Business. I wish they had one about photography for the knifemaker, I would be all over that one.

Yeah, that Bob Kramer business one looked interesting to me too.

Me and Larrin are doing a Blade University about the performance of pattern welded steel. We did charpy, catra, and microscopy testing on several alloy combinations from a few different makers. We have learned a lot and are excited to share our findings. Class is Friday morning at 10 am. Probably not the best time but worth it.

That's a great time! Not too early, not right after lunch when your brain is in carb overload...

I had a whole list of classes that I wanted to go to, but it is our first year as exhibitors, so I didn't want to tie up too much time away from our table. I had to narrow it down to just a couple.

I had no idea about this. Apparently, I need to be there next year and take some classes. I would love to take some classes... right now, I am learning from youtube and books.
