Hi guys,
I'm not sure if the bladesmith forum is the correct place to post this, but I figure what better people to ask than people blades.
I recently purchased a TRM Atom. fantastic knife. Light, slicey, well made.
The other day I noticed that on the last half inch of the tip the blade reflects light differently. A good analogy would be a shallow dent on a car door.
Upon doing some research it appears to be a warp or ripple on the blade. To be clear, the warp is very subtle. I cant really feel any substantial variance in thickness in the steel when running my finger across it. As far as I can tell the spine looks straight
There does appear to be some change in the secondary grind in the vicinity of the warp.
My question is, are defects such as this pretty par for the course when it comes to blades. In other words should this be considered as acceptable/ within spec or something that the manufacturer should address?
In addition, are there any performance or sharpening issues I might run into because of this warp?
Thank you in advance for any advice or perspective you all can provide.
I'm fairly new to the knife hobby and all this is new and exciting to learn about.
Photo below for reference, although, its very difficult to see without seeing it in person (it's most evident with changes in reflected light)
