here are a few pics from my trip to blade. this was my first blade show - and it was definitely an experience. aside from the stupid construction - everything went off really well. I got to put a face to some of the (forum) names i see on here, and also had a chance to meet a lot of fine makers. first off i would like to say thanks to skunk for the VIP pass - i appreciate it! anyways, here are some pics.

I scored this custom shop ASH1 saturday morning just after they opened the show. there were quite a few people lined up and making a b-line to the busse booth to have first dibs. I am not sure what was there on friday - as i was only able to make it sat and sun.

here is a scrap yard knife (not sure which model) that i was eying sat morning - when i came back that afternoon i decided to pick it up. it was very reasonably priced and i have been curious about the handle material.

I also scored a cool new hat too...

this knife i bought from a local (to me) dealer that i know. it was special ordered then the buyer backed out - so he cut me a good deal.

just across the aisle from the busse booth was bill siegle. i have seen a lot of his knives on this site - but never had the opportunity to handle one. anyways - here is what i picked up saturday morning. i have to say - his knives seem extremely well built. thick steel - solid handle construction - only issue i have is that the sheath is very tight - hopefully it will loosen up a bit with use.

a comparison of the siegle knife (i think the model is called solo) to the ash1.

i came back sun morning to have another look at the custom shop ash1 with spine serrations. thankfully it was already sold so i wasn't tempted any further. but.... right across the aisle from the busse booth was bill siegle...

here is a knife i picked up from sam henson. i was not familiar with him as a maker - but this knife caught my eye when i was looking over his table. sam seemed very genuine and was eager to talk to me about his knives. he told me about the construction of the knife, how he prepares the handle material - and how this knife came to have a little bit longer handle than some of his other work. anyways - i didnt have the cash to pick it up the first day - but was sure to stop by again before i left.

Nice haul.... you scored some really nice knives! :thumbup:

One day I'll get to put some faces to the names... I'm determined to make it to Blade next year. :cool:

WOW:eek::eek:

Looks like you had a great time at Blade West:thumbup::thumbup:

Is that ASH-1 the sage and tan camo G10?
:eek:WOW!:eek:

first i thought it was a dead on match for the black/tan fsh - but when i compared them - it is closer to the sage. here are a couple pics to compare the handle materials.
