Any Unusual Suspects plan on attending the Blade West Show in Irvine, CA starting tomorrow? I plan on attending either Friday or Saturday. Hope to see some of you there. BTW does anyone know if Ernie will be having a knife raffle?

How are "raffles" administered... Done each day, last day or at specific times? Any info would be appreciated. Anyone heard how the airline situation has effected the show?
 
Hello all,

There will be a raffle for some customs at the show. I am pretty sure that Ernie decided on just one and it will be held on Friday, probably later in the day.

Ernie, Mary, and Shaun will all be there tomorrow as well as the newest Emerson, Lucas Anthony. I will be here at the shop, minding the fort. I will be there, with Shaun, Saturday and Sunday.

Hard to say how the show will go given the current situation. I would have to think that a few people will not show that would be forced to fly in but, i kind of expect more local/semi-locals to be in attendance.

I'll be there with my new digital camera in hand. Hopefully Tam and Nyeti and Derek will let me take some pics of their goodies for the Usual Suspects to enjoy here. :)
Hey Judge, will you be at the show? I'd very much like to buy all attending Suspects a round or two of drinks tomorrow night. :)
 
Dang was planning on coming...had the invites and dinner seating reservations all arranged. Moving to the East coast next weekend. :(

Any news whether the New York Show is still on? and whether Ernie or Emerson knives will be represented.
I plan on going if it's still on, to give support to New Yorkers :)

Those Tam & Nyeti collections are something special.....;)

I'd love to come out but unfortunately I'm kind of tied up at work right now and have a quick trip out to Tampa Florida lined up in early October that I have to make.

I do consider myself a a Usual Suspect even if the invitation didn't include me i do think that t'was a scweeet offer, Eric, you're the best.

I really hope to meet a lot of you guys at Bladeshow 2002.

Unbelievable! The raffle was one of the best. Two CQC 9s. Maybe three. Two tactical Persians!!! One unheard of all black, no bolster, hand sculpted scales, CQC7. One 8. A one of fixed blade. A one of neck knife dagger. A bundle of Viper 1s and 2s. 5s' and 6s'. There was more but I lost count. Suspects did very well. Tami got a Persian. Mac Attack got the one of fixed blade. Not sure if Nyeti got anything. I think Ancient Sul got something. One purveyor got a persian and the black 7, but I think they're headed for a favorite suspect who doesn't know it yet, until I e mail him. Me? so-so. Just a CQC9, a Viper2 that I was waiting for, a Viper 1 for a friend who doesn't want it ( e mail me if interested ) and a neck knife. Other than that nothing. Whew!:D :D :D
 
The first day of the Blade show was the best! I must concur with Bladelaw on the raffle. I didn't keep an actual count of how many custom pieces he had for sale but I can tell you it was in the range of 25 - 30! :eek: I was actually surprised by the volume of knives Ernie had at the show. I recall seeing atleast two CQC5's, two or three CQC6's, one CQC7, one CQC8, something like eight to ten CQC9 (That's right people I said 8 to 10), atleast 5 Vipers, two persha's, two tactical fixed blades ( I got one!!!! :D ), and a bunch of custom neck knives. Needless to say there were quite a few happy suspects that day :).

On another note it was a pleasure to meet many of the suspects like Tamishigiri, Nyeti, rukus, bladelaw, sean and many others who I can't seem to recall at this time. I would personally like to thank Ernie, Mary and Sean for working hard to produce the knives and for making the show so enjoyable. I really have to tip my hat to those guys!

Mac! You must've been the guy towards the end that was there waiting with me in order to get history from Ernie on the fixed blades! Was that you? Shaun took your sheath apart in order to show you how it worked. We scored identical pieces! You were telling me that you never owned a Commander, and I ended up showing you mine and I got the satin Skull-clip from Shaun. Was that you??
