Any time you can get to a major knife show, go for it. Lots of fun, a chance to see ALL the knives :D and talk to the makers and manufacturers, which is the best part.

Even minor knife shows are fun!

i was there, it rocked.

I met a few knife celebrities, and oogled over the high-end customs.:D

I was there too....and thought the show was terrible. I was really dissapointed.... a far cry from the regular Oregon show in Eugene.

It was my first time to BladeShow West, so the only thing that set my expectations was the exhibitor list. I had a great time -- the conversations that stick in my mind are the ones with Ed Fowler, Grant and Gavin Hawk, Bill Seigle, Scot Matsuoka, and the crews at SwampRat/Busse knives, Chris Reeve Knives, Kershaw, and CRK&T. I was excited to blow more $$$ than I should have, which is alway an indicator of a fun show :o .

I was only able to attend on Friday -- late flight out that nite and some other business to tend to in the early afternoon -- so my time was limited. My dissappointments in the show were:
  • Some exhibitors were late setting up. No shows on Friday morning, or just starting to set up when things opened at 11a.
  • I seemed like there were several exhibitors that were missing relative to the preliminary exhibitor list -- either that, or my bad memory is getting the best of me.
I probably got a lot better on Saturday, when the seminar's were held. All in all, I was satisfied, and would attend again.
