Hey all, I am pretty new to Busse. I bought my first just over 2 months ago. While I have been able to accumulate a few knives in just two months, I am still learning more every day which is good.

For the uninitiated, will Busse have a presence at Blade West? It is my understanding it is tentatively scheduled for September sometime in Portland Oregon if my memory serves.

I am curious if it will be similiar to Blade in Atlanta? I was hoping for an opportunity to go and pick up a blade or two there since I won't be able to make Atlanta, and Seattle is just a hop skip and a jump from Portland.

Any info would be most appreciate.

Best Regards to all,

Les.

I have not been to Atlanta but from what I've seen and what I've been told it is not nearly the same as the Atlanta show. However those of us that do go have a good time and I have bought something the last two years that I have gone. I am planning on going this year.

Per the website "2009 show – tentatively scheduled for Sept. 11 to 13 at the Monarch Hotel and Conference Center in Portland, Oregon"

That link is where I found out there is a Blade West. But I didn't see a list of makers attending. My hope is that Busse will be present, even if it's the guy who makes coffee and cleans the toilets and has some knives with price tags on them for those of us who can't make Atlanta.

Regards,

Les.

Blade West is a very small show, IMO. I have never been to Blade but I know there is a world of difference.

I've gone to Blade West the last two years and both times the Busse Company Store (run by our own idahoskunk) has had a table, and there has also been a Swamp Rat table too.

So unless Skunk is deciding not to go this year then yes there will be a Busse table and if it's like previous years you will have an opportunity to hold plenty of customs and some current productions, and who knows what else. When I've gone we'll go out for dinner on the Saturday night of the show and have a good time.

I am going, and Scott and his boys are gonna be there, I believe. Its a small show, but still a good one, I would recommend coming you'll have a good time.

I am going to be at Blade West via Singapore and Auckland . (yes that is the long way round:D)
I look forward to meeting some of my brother Hogs there.
It would also be awesome to shake the Boss's hand in person and I hope to find a few interesting items to add to the collection....:)
I'm in for $50-00 if it helps get Jerry and Amy there:thumbup:

WOW , and I was bummed about having to drive 200 miles.

You know Ill be there! A 4 hour drive suddenly doesnt sound as bad compared to Alfaholics cross global trek... Where are we going to dinner?!?!? Jake's Seafood, Sammi's on 23rd, El Gaucho......... So many good options......Its been a while since Ive lived there, so hopefully those places are all still there!

If you can make the Drive to Portland from Klamath in 4 hours you must fly low.

I generally allow 6 or so.

I skipped last year but went the year before.

The best Knife Show in Oregon is the Oregon Knife Collectors show in Eugene.

Try it, you will like it.

Edited to add:

I have been living out in the Sticks near Sprague River the last 20 months or so.

I am closing escrow on a house in Klamath Falls next week, in the Pelican City part of town at the south end of the lake.

Alfaholic you have me by a few miles, but Isheldon, your lucky. :D I have to drive a round trip of almost 1400 miles.
