blade with neoprene scales

Well, here's a knife with a rubber handle, if that helps.

Tait, not my knife. I pulled out of my photo gallery. All I can remember is it was made bt an Italian maker.

Dave

P.S. All the hardware is acid washed brass.

Heres one I did. Shaping was pretty much like normal on the grinder. Made a nice mess with tiny bits of rubber all over everything. Don't overheat. I attached them with a flexible tpe of adhesive they use to put on car trim. Dried flexible and black. I was worried the flex in the neoprene would pop normal epoxy. You can sand the stuff, but not that well...I left it fairly rough and it smoothed out some with heavy use...

There's a maker in Washington state who uses horse stall mat for scales and his knives look like real workhorses. I am drawing a blank on his name but I'm pretty sure he's out of Yakima - It's Jose Diaz (review of one of his knives). Anyway, point being I know there are many makers who have used/experimented with horse stall mat with good success.
