Blade wobble what does this mean

My dad has and older folding knife he carries virtually all the time. He take excellent care of it (shapens and oils reguarly) but does use it for any task. It had some blade movement - wobble. What does this mean - is the knife just wearing out? Will this get worse over time? Can a knifesmith (if there is such a thing - I am a guy guy) fix this at a reasonable cost. Maybe I could get it fixed for him.

which brand is your dad knife?
may-be it would be cheaper to by the same one?
Which kind of pivot is it? crew?
