Thanks in no small part to Y2K we're going to have to postpone the opening of the Magazine.

I'd planned on it being available at 9 am this morning, but since the number of Y2K problems have eaten all of my time this weekend and today, we're going to have to push it back a few days.

The good news is that the 2 major obstacles that were eating most of my time (fixing the forums, and fixing the banners) are now taken care of, and I'm back on track. The bad news is that Mike's personal computer, which had 4 of the articles on it, suffered a major Y2K related meltdown that caused the repair tech to say "Well, I've never seen that before..." We're hoping to recover that data shortly.

In the mean time, I will keep you posted as we get closer to the opening of the magazine. We are making significant progress now, so it should be moving a lot faster...

Thanks for your patience and support.

Hey Sparky, I e-mailed Mike an article+pictures. Should I send him that again or is it safe?

Sincerely,
Adam

Adam, we got your pictures.

Everyone, please do not email us pictures without our authorization! Wait for our approval before you send them, it helps keep our mailboxs from filling...

Opps sorry, I thought Mike knew I would be sending pictures.

Looking forward towards the first issue.

Am I the only person who has subscribed and not received a login and password? I subscribed a long time ago, have received and worn my T-shirt, sent an E-mail requesting my login and password, reregistered and said prepaid, still no L/P.

Chief,

You and I were among the first subscribers. After Spark and Mike added the password entry for subscribers, Mike posted instructions here on how we, the first at bat, could get up to speed. Essentially go back and resubscribe, indicating you'd send a check. Then fill out your choice of login name and password. Spark and Mike will catch the dupes and you'll be all set. Besides, you, like me, probably used a credit card first time up and we won't be sending a check

Bob;
I'm in the same boat except I did send snail mail payment after logging order at BFStore. I did receive the shirt and last week sent a e-mail asking about the password.
I tried your suggestion of resubscribing but it didn't seem to work. The message I got when I resubscribed was that the email account was assigned to a member awaiting approval (Me, I hope!)
Should I worry about being caught in the computer glitch or just tough it out until everything's working again.

While we are on the subject, I tried to subscribe a couple of days back but the system didn't seem to be accepting my email address.
Haven't had a reply to my resulting query yet but I am assuming the problems referred to above have been keeping management's attention elsewhere.
Hope to be there when the mag is up and running.

Y2K bugs???? Postponing because of "Y2K bugs"???

Yeah right. Come on Spark, tell the truth: just how many glasses of Y2K DID you drink?

Is this one of those "the night before keeps coming back in bits and pieces" situations? Is the magazine postponed until you can focus on your monitor again?

Blade,

Once your check is applied, you ought to be able to successfully use the method I mentioned. Since I subscribed with a credit card, my account never went into a "pending" state, allowing me to later add my password - login choices for the e-zine.

Hope this helps.

You are right, I was one of the first...and I went back and did as you recommended, now if I can only remember by password...guess I will know when the mag comes out.

Spark,

How about a reminder E-mail to all subscribers with they l/p when it goes online? Thankx...

I just updated the subscription page at http://www.bladeforums.com/magazine/subscribe.shtml

If you haven't signed up and chosen your username and password yet, you need to do so, as the magazine will be up this week, and you will need your username and password to get in....

There is also a shopping cart option available for secure ordering, however, either way you will need to fill out the form so that you can choose your username and password....

Spark I did that awhile ago and got an email confirming it shortly after which contained :

Your membership will be processed in 1-3 days, at which time we will email you
your username and password.

I never did recieve any followup email.

Yeah, that was a typo on my part. I thought it would send you your username and password, but it doesn't.

You need to remember the username and password that you entered when you signed up.
