Hello all. I was pointed the direction of his forum, as I have recently stumbled upon a knife I would like to know more about, but unfortunately only have a nondescript photo with no lead as to brand/model/etc..

Any help in identifying would be greatly appreciated, and I was told that if anyone had the resources to help a guy identify a mystery blade, the BladeForums crowd was it.

Aaaaaaand, GO:

Also, if you know of anything that is a quality build and is similar to this, would love to know more about it as well.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a Lucas Burnley Kwaiken Flipper to me. That one looks like a custom, but Boker Plus makes a significantly more inexpensive version.

Well played, sir.

I guess with an aftermarket clip? All the photos I have seen of them have this clip:

I wish the blade shape was different, and a little heftier though. I also like this clip in the original photo as opposed to this one.

Thank you though for the lightning quick answer.

The clip was what made me think custom, but I just checked and it looks like the version they're using on the flipper model.

Happy to help. If you dig that look, but want something a bit different you should take a look at the Viper Knives Keeper in green micarta. Offers some similar design aesthetic, but a bit more traditional blade shape.

Also, the rear spur on the back of the blade to assist with opening is present on the Lucas Burnley's but not on the Bokers... so that's another difference I would miss.

However, I am not a man of the means to get the ~$1,000 LB model, so I will just have to lust after it for the time being.

The spur is usually called a flipper, and Boker Plus did release a different model that does have that and the custom-style clip. Sorry for not being clear earlier, it's easy to forget that not everyone on this forum has been indoctrinated into knife terminology. Google Boker Plus Kawiken Flipper and you'll see something much closer to the knife in the picture.

Thanks for the direction. In looking into Viper, who I was previously unfamiliar with, I actually found the Viper Free. I think I may be a fan of this guy too. Not as slim as the Kwaiken, but I like the blade shape much more.
