I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge BigBiscuit for his amazing generosity!

There was thread started a while back "If you had a time machine" in which I remarked that if I had a time machine I would go back and find one of the knives my great grandfather handed down and that I subsequently lost as a boy. Bob PM'd me shortly thereafter out of the blue and said that he had a nearly identical version of that particular knife and would like to send it to me. His extremely thoughtful gift and kind words totally blew me away. That knife arrived today and it is in fantastic shape. Bob was even kind enough to touch up the edge, its sharp and ready to get to work! What an awesome guy and an awesome gift! Thank you Bob! The Porch is really filled with wonderful folks.

Congrats JITDC, they come no finer than Bob. A Kind and GENEROUS a man that I'm proud to call a friend. Oh and on the lighter side a New England Patriot Fan:D

Enjoy that wonderful knife:thumbup:

Congrats, Jake! Way to go, Bob; you're one of the best. Enjoy that Coast Cutlery! What's the blade length on that guy?

Finally, I knew he couldn't be all good, lol!

That sounds just like Bob to do that! A short time ago, he sent me a #15 single clip , a user that he had some work done on and worked on himself. Now we all know how hard these are to come by. He knows I have issues with using new knives, so he sent me one that id love, to carry in my pocket and not worry about. What a guy, that Bigbiscuit! congrats OP!

Bob's great people, you're lucky enough to bear witness to that here. One of the many kind hearted folks on the porch, Bob's loved by everyone. :) Congratulations on getting a memory back. Bob, you're a great man my friend, MHL&R. More smoke and prayers headin' your way.

Nice work Bob :) That's a great-looking knife too. Thanks for telling us about it

Thank you all for the kind words. You're embarrassing me. :o I sometimes think about a few knives I've lost and wished I had them to this day. When I read Jake's post, it just seemed like the thing to do. His post included a pic of that knife with the Western Tang stamp. Mine has a Coast Cutlery stamp, which upon investigation was made by Western and would explain the exact copy of what Jake lost.
It still has much life left in it. Use it well Jakob. :D

Bob that's totally awesome - what a great act of kindness! You're one of the all-time great ones here that makes this forum the nearly family environment it is.

Congrats on your new knife JITDC! :)

JITDC, my friend Bob is a kind and generous man. He is one of the elite on the porch in this area. Always willing to offer advice and suggestions to any and all that need it. I am so proud to call him my friend! This has put a big ole smile on my face!!! :D

Congrats on acquiring your "sentimental" knife, JITDC, and thanks for sharing the story!:thumbup:
Now you've joined so many of us here on The Porch who have experienced first-hand Bob's thoughtfulness and generosity!
BigBiscuit is such an upstanding Forumite in so many ways, and his well-known generosity is just "gravy".
Way to go, Bob; can't beat Biscuit and gravy!! :D
