why haven't I been around here so much lately? Thrice Damned Facebook!My 20th HS reunion is coming up and I've seen all my old friends from HS. Verdict? All of us are aging. Greying, fattening and unable to see it in ourselves. ;)

That said, I'll join the BF FB page right now.

not for me either, i recently spent a few hours immunizing my pc from any possibility of connecting to facebook or myspace servers. facebook/myspace is an evil plot to bring down western society and replace it with transnational progressive socialism.
 
Meh, all the friends that I want on BFC can be found right here in the Cantina as well as the other boards that I visit (Fiddleback Forge, Multi-tools, etc).

Isn't everything an evil plot to bring about paranoid socialism?

I mean I have looked around, and it really is EVERYTHING!
From "reality" media to stupid political correctness laws that make you afraid of your neighbour.

Here is a good one.

Last week a mate of a mate of mine was driving down the road (within speed limit and other limits) and was stopped and searched by police.
Just a routine stop and search they said.
he was arrested and charged with possesion of a dangerous weapon.
How you may ask:confused:
They had him open his boot and in it they found a fishing rod. Next to the fishing rod was a tackle box.
Yes, you might have guessed it, in the tackle box was a
FILLETING knife. :eek:

Believe it. The filleting knife was the dangerous weapon.
He is being charged and his fishing knife was confiscated.
I suppose just in case he went of his head and started killing shoppers at Tesco with it.:jerkit:

Titus, believe me we're not laughing because we are seeing our precious freedoms here eroded more and more on a daily basis and the helluvit is we've been seeing it happen for way, way, too long! :grumpy: :(
It seems like for every step forward we freedom loving and supporting people take we get pushed back two. :( :mad: I have no idea of where things are going to end but I'm really, really, glad that I'm as old as I am so that hopefully I won't live long enough to see the U.S.A. go the same way as the U.K. and Australia!!!

I look at my son, who is 1 year old in 2 weeks time and I worry.
My wife agrees with me, but being a Daoist, she is not really bothered by it and thinks its just Karma and not much we can do about it and worrying does not help.
Unfortunately, we as westerners have always made our own fate so its in our genetic make up to act.

The fourth Reich is coming. Some people on this forum support it by supporting politicians who can only cover their incompetance with non-sensical laws to please the newspapers.
 
You know....My Grandfather related an Interesting story to me when I was around 12 or so... He was born July 4, 1896.
He told me that during the 2nd World War, that Britain had effectively Dis-Armed its population (Other than the Army etc) and He and others here in the US had were able to donate firearms to be sent to the UK for the People there to use in defense against a Cross-Channel invasion.
I was reading the posts above and just now thought of that story.
I am going to research that and see what I find.

PS: I seem to remember something about the fact that the Tories had effectively disarmed the civil population thru gun control..... Adolph Hitler was a BIG FAN of Civilian Gun Control....

Yes, Tories started it. ut who to vote for?
Libs, Labour and Tories are all bad eggs and BNP too radical.
Perhaps radical is what is needed, I dont know. I just see events in motion setting us up for a repeat of bad history.
