O.K. here's my idea, let me know if I'm on bad drugs.
I am a small-time maker who sells to just friends and by word of mouth. I never have more than 4-5 blades done at any time and therefore don't "Do" shows. I do however drive to every show I can to meet makers see their work and get supplies. At these shows I obviously recognize the makers who are forumites because their names are displayed prominently on their tables. It is always great to be able to break the ice by mentioning having rec'd help from them via the Forums.
This got me thinking about the number of other Forumites that might be present standing right beside me whose questions or input has assisted me and whom I would never get to thank personally or perhaps miss out on a new friendship.
Here it comes..... Why not have a BladeForums I.D. badge?
It could be as simple as a Peel and Stick address lable stuck onto a piece of paper and slid into one of those .15 cent convention style plastic pin on holders.
The Moderators could design the format,perhaps the BladeForums logo in the upper corner with our name and or nick-name below it.
This would be a great way to foster growth on the forums and camaraderie among the members.
Hell, if you want to get real fancy go all out and make a credit card style with clip hanger available for a donation to the 9-11 Fund.
Anyway that's my idea. I'm going to send it to the moderators for their input and to ask them to post this thread on all the other forums. What I'd like from you members is your yes or no to the idea and to let the Moderators know how you feel.
