Is anyone else having trouble loading BF? It varies, but sometimes it feels like the early days of the internet.

I don't think it's my connection because other sites load just fine.

Its been fine for me today but last night it was so slow i gave up a couple times (only lasted 5-10 minutes before checking again). At one point i got a notice at the top saying the site was offline but i could still view everything normally.

Certain times of day. I think with so many people stuck at home with nothing to do, the internet is swamped. I just make modem sounds as I wait. For those that remember modems. And dot matrix printers, etc.

Speaking of which, for some reason my father was storing an ancient computer at our family's insurance agency, wanting me to remove and destroy the hard drive. It had Windows Milennium Edition. 256MB hard drive. I took it apart anyway, despite the fact that the drive was shot and probably more corrupt than the Illinois government. I love disassembling old electronics and stuff. Instead of smashing the disks we are turning some of the internals into wall art.

I think the slowdowns are interesting - BF is hosted by cloudflare, which is one of the most resilient systems out there. I'm surprised they have not been able to find the issue.

They have hosted many domains that have had large DDOS attacks - but they are rated as one the best companies able to withstand them

I'm guessing the millions of people streaming HD videos are starting to have an impact, but these issues pre-date the mass quarantine...
my best guess would be ad networks/javascript nonsense overloading the ad servers/collectors...
however, I normally disable javascript on those... so perhaps it really is thrashing disk arrays (overloading back end disk drives)

The most likely answer; cloudflare has over-provisioned the vm servers hosting bf

let us know what cloudflare support said?

I've noticed it, too. Thoughts above about mass usage have merit but none of my other sites have slowed. So I've discounted that.
