What knife is that on the Bladeforums logo? I like the look of that thing. I tried to search for "logo" and "Bladeforum logo" several times but the site is not responding.

It's just a design, for a knife that was never manufatured.

As Esav stated, it was just a design concept that Mike Turber, the previous owner of Bladeforums, came up with. His idea was inspired by many of the production knives available at the time.

Would I be correct in saying it looks a bit like a Benchmade? I'd like to find a BM that looked like that. All the talk I have heard about BM's leads me to believe they are the best knives out there without spending several hundred dollars.

All Benchmark seem to be discounted in price.

You are correct in that the knife has attributes from Benchmade. The overal shape was inspired by the Mini Reflex, which was a favorite of mine at the time. The rest was done by Blackie Collins and myself.

To me it looks like a SERE 2000 with a different handle butt and an axis lock.
