Part one has been up already, and Part two was added in another thread today.
Putting this up just in case some missed Part 2 in the other thread.

Thank you BladeHQ, and Chris Reeve for doing these.

Thank you for posting these videos. I enjoyed them very much. One thing I didn't know is that the screws are torqued to a specific amount of force at the factory. Does anyone happen to know what that is? I usually just tighten them down all the way.

Did my eyes deceive me, or did I see a Spyderco medium Sharpmaker rod in there?!

You did. Chris himself has been known to pull out a sharpmaker at shows and touch up people's CRK blades. It's a damn fine sharpening system.

Wow!
I came to this forum because I am seriously considering a $500 knife and always read about the tight tolerances of CRK's and wanted to know exactly what those tolerances are.
I am glad I watched the vids before I started a thread because it pretty much answered all of my questions.
Thank you for posting the vids and hopefully by June or so, I will have saved up enough nickles.

As Garrett, and Rob mentioned Chris recommends them for sharpening.
I keep a single medium rod by my chair. I've never had to use it on a CRK(as they come perfect), but have used it on other knives in a similar way as it was used in the vid. They are great for removing a little steel if needed. For example, I got a Sage ll that had sharp(very crisp) edges on the spine, and a point where you placed you thumb. I worked both with the rod, and had it to my liking in about 10 minutes. The medium rod is very handy for these type of situations.

I didn't know this either, but it makes it faster for them I'm sure, and ensures consistency. I don't know the amount of torqe, but like you I just tighten mine snug and stop there. I've never had one back out.

Not sure how much i'll be getting on my tax returns but I know where some of the money will be going. Now to decide on which model...
