Would like to know your impressions of this knife and the differences between the two.........

Thanks in advance

I like the design, it feels substantial. Get one fast since they downgraded the steel. The difference is blade length and shape

The original BladeLock has a 3.5" clip blade, the BladeLock 2 is shorter (a little under 3"), and a semi-wharncliffe shape.

While the lock might seem a novelty, it really works well; despite a couple years of recreational opening and closing (the lock still fascinates me), it still locks up like a bank vault door, and the solid steel frame feels solid as a rock for such a small knife.

I much prefer the original BladeLock, personally; it's slim and handy, but with a lot of blade. I don't see the original on the CRKT site anymore; I take that to mean it's discontinued. Better get one while you can!!

I have to say that I was intrigued by the lock design of the Bladelock but the knife was just so so, I really liked the BL2 and jumped on the first on for sale on the sale forum. I've had it about a year and a half and it is one of my most carried and used EDCs. The blade shape is excellent for all around utility and the size is perfect and sheeple friendly. The silhouette is unmistakeably Walker and that's a good thing.

..true, true...

My only frustration is that the scales are zytel and not g10 or micarta, as such a pretty knife sure deserves the latter.
