Bladematerial for bolsters

[Ansoknives]

I was thinking of using some ATS-34 or BG-42 for bolsters. No soldering just pinning. Should I heattreath them for better rustresistans and if so what happens when I try to pin the pin in hardent material.

You can . I would draw them back to a softer state to make them easier to work. You may want to go with 304 or 303 ss if that what your after
